At last a group of us have convinced our pub landlord to give up the paddock at the back of the pub for allotment use. Now the hard part, do we need to get in touch with the council for a change of use planning permission etc etc. There will be at least 10 plots and payment for these plots will be the veg grown and given to the pub for their kitchens. Any help, advice, telephone numbers would be most welcome. The plots are situated around 50 meters away from the pub door if this makes any difference and are situated at the side of the car park.

Yeah you lucky lot  :D
Yes you will need at least change of use planning permission.

Try here http://www.farmgarden.org.uk/ari/  loads of great advice  about funding, setting up and running.

A pub in eyesite!  Oh, you are lucky.  Mind you if I had access to my allotment, a toilet and a pub at the same time, I may never make it home!

Not if the field was used agriculturally before .
'Agriculture' can include growing crops, producing seeds, keeping livestock, and a few other things...
Hopefully, you may just be pleasantly surprised .

Good luck with it.

Might just be worth checking with the landlord that he's not used the herbicide aminopyralid or clopyralid (sp?) on the grass in the last 3-4 years.  It's lethal to plants in the spud and bean family.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
