So no over the counter is organic?

Better get comfrey growing then.  Is it the smelly tea stuff I use?

Thanks Shaun, you're a font of all knowledge.

If you want something out of a box or bottle, use organic chicken manure pellets (cheapest at Wilkos) spread over you tomato patch, then water with Maxicrop organic seaweed fertilizer.

I make feed with comfrey, nettles, horse poo, seaweed and recycled beer that's good enough for tomatoes, and save the Maxicrop for feeding giant marrows & pumpkins.

by recycled beer I am assuming your kidneys have filtered it first?

Do you use equal quantities, and the comfrey is the tea/stew stuff.

Yes please Shaun I would love some of your comfrey (I know I will regret this in the morning).

Do you still have my address or do you want me to PM you?

Deffo comfrey liquid but Shaun's plants will only help for next year.   This year, go for nettle liquid and others suggested above.

I bought a bottle last year that just said it was organic tomato food (liquid), can't remember where I got it, either b&q or a garden centre in Gilberdyke (east yorks).  I forgot to water my toms though so couldn't tell you if it worked or not coz they all died from dehydration!

An onion sack of each lsuspended in old cold water storage tanks.

When I spread a whole tank of it on a warm day over my onions & garlic just inside the allotment gate, the next person through the gate thought there was a problem with the drains in the road outside.

I've found the technical bit whilst waiting for the rain to stop.

Nutrients (percentage) NPK

Comfrey     2:3:5

Manure       4:2:5

Nettles       3:2:3   +Calcium, iron & silicon

Seaweed     2.5:0.5:2.5    +Trace elements

So mixing all 4 remedies any individual defficiencies and provides trace elements (don't have any data for recycled beer thouigh).
