growing rubarb
« on: October 03, 2009, 18:48 »
i know this may be a very silly question but i need to ask it as it caused a bit of a row between me and my other half, he asked me to make a larger box for his rubard, so i did, 6ft by 6ft and by 10 inches deep... so what does he do dig it staight in to the ground  and then when  i asked about what about the rest of the soil he said im putting it on top of the rubard?????, to me it seem silly and told him wount that kill it and he said no it will grow through the soil.. is he right or should the crowns be on top with a covering of horse poo.. please let me know who's right, if it is hiom then whats the best way to eat humble pie,

The top of the crown should be just below the surface of the soil. No more than an inch or so.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
