Two questions if I may? 1] Most of our peas contained small maggoty grub, what is this?
2] Came back from a week in Ediburgh and found all our tomatoes going a yellow yucky colour, what is this?

1: Pea moth.
2: Presume you mean the leaves - could be blight, virus or mineral deficency.

Just looked at tomatoes, The stems and leaves have gone black and tomatoes have nasty
yellowy rot on them. How do I proceed? Are they to be pulled up and disposed of, and will the ground be affected where they were planted?

Pull them up and bag or burn them 

Tomatoes are even more susceptible to blight than potatoes   

Plant something different there next year.
