This evening's meal
« on: July 25, 2009, 18:48 »
Well everyone, my evening meal in about half an hour or so is consisting of my new potatoes (dug up today) :), carrots (also dug up today) 8), runner beans (picked today).  The only thing that I've not "dug or picked today" is the meat, which I bought from the Farm a couple of weeks ago - marinated pork rib eye steak.

I'm just off for a nice soak, then will start on the tea.  Can't wait 8)

Funnily enough I just posted a picture of todays harvest, although not the first of the year, definitely the most varied and the biggest yield I've had so far.  Most will have to wait until Sunday dinner though, after nearly 6 hours down the plot I cannot be bothered to mess around in the kitchen.  Criminal I know

I've got spuds, peas and courgettes - all with butcher's sausages.  Mmm  8)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Just to say that I've had my tea - I must admit, I agree with Lee - after 7 hours on the plot, I'm shattered.  But boy, the tea was worth it :D.  I've got my feet up, will be surfing and playing Half Life, at the same time as drinking my beer whilst my OH watches Frost.  Bliss ;)

One thought one had to say either "Bottoms up" or "Chin Chin" if one was on the Pimm's
old chap. ;)

When I looked at my lager (straight out of the fridge), it reminded me of that film, you know the one, the War film with John Mills and the ambulance in the desert when they got their Carsberg beers, with the water running down the side of the glass - well that was my bottle of beer , and boy, just like Double Diamond (showing my age), it tasted good :) 8)

Tonight we have roast beef, new pots, cauli, french beans and carrots followed by rasps and homemade ice cream.  I produced the beef, grow the veg and rasps and made the ice cream with my own eggs ::)
