Flamin Pak Choi has flowered again, wouldn't mind but they are not large enough to harvest any leaves from! Anyone else have this problem?

Yes..me. Well..not strictly true..they were large enough to eat a few leaves but they suddenly went to seed before I got the chance. I won't be growing them again. Perhaps it has been too warm and dry recently?

I think Pak Choi runs to flower quite easily earlier in the year (possibly a day length thing). You can eat the flowers too but the stems get a bit tough TBH

Sowing now might avoid this. I have just out some more in so let's hope this is a sound theory    :D

My pak choi is 6 days old and a little leggy so will be potting them up in the next couple of days.

Yes, mine run to seed at any excuse.  Next year I'm going to grow them in somewhere more shady.  They grow really easily and I love to eat them.

Didn't see this thread first time around!

The pigeons got mine but they're looking better under some netting now.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Hi. I have just bought some Pak choi seeds today, as i have heard that it isn't to late to sow them. Is this correct? Some sites say its ok and others say not after August. I thought that you guy's would have the correct answer to my question. Also sun or shade
Thanks for any help

I reckon last sowing should be 6 weeks before first frost expected.  They aren't keen non being transplanted, but one option would be to raise in newspaper pots in greenhouse / conservatory to "hurry them up" at this time of year.  Planting in the border of a cold greenhouse (or a pot I suppose) might be an option?

Growing for cut-and-come-again may be more successful that trying to grow a "head" given that its end fo season.
