Protection from butterflies
« on: June 14, 2009, 21:52 »
I don't know about anyone else, but I had a real problem with Cabbage white butterfly caterpillars eating most of my crop last year, even though they were netted.

This year, I've beaten them ....... and my solution has been to use scaffolding netting!

It's really good ..... fine mesh that won't allow anything in, but lets plenty of light and water through. I got it by mail order from the manufacturer/supplier ...... great valu for money at just over 20 quid, delivered for a 2 X 50 metre roll.

I'm sure others here are already using it, but thought I'd share with those that don't!

 :D :D :D

Works a treat for me, between DD and Aunt Sally about netting and frame, the help from both means my sprouts are bootiful so far this year

Where did you get it from gardenmonkey ?????

It's a company called Tarpaflex ... if you google it, they come near the top ......

Make sure you get the Debris netting ... it's good as it has holes in it that you can use for tieing it to canes etc ..... brilliant!!
