I have seen a really well priced off for self fertile kiwi fruit. Has anyone ever grown these? ... I'm wondering what sort of a crop you get

I have a tree on the lottie, that I can't get rid of, so I'm thinking of getting one to climb up it. Adding on the postage makes it a bit more than I really want to pay though, as I too have no idea if it will really ripen fruit in this country.
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

That's the question I have too -- let's hope someone has grown one and got fruit   before I part with my £3   ::)

I have read that the self fertile ones need a longer season to form fruit, so although more convenient may be less suitable for UK climate.

BBC and here - discussion about difficulty of getting Jenny to fruit in the UK unless there is a very good Summer - and recommending growing under glass.

Edit: Fixed the links that I should have tested, sorry about that

Thank you Kristen. Can't seem to open links though... not sure why as I usually can with no trouble.

Could go for under glass if the plants don't get too big as I have a new greenhouse on the school plot......

Try these:- BBC and here

I ordered two, I'll keep one in the conservatory and plant the other to go up the tree on the allotment. Aldi's had those fab reservoir pots again, so I stocked up. ;)

Thanks Woodburner -- having read these I shall probably use the space for something more reliable, as the children need to see results if it is to inspire them  :)
