Yes, if it comes from a cow, horse, goat or rabbit.  Hopefully you'll get well-rotted stuff.  No, if it comes from summat with only 2 legs.

cheers for that whisky.

I was gonna dig an 8" deep trench by 10" wide. \Does that sound about right??

Also i have just moved my leek seedlings into 3" pots and was going to go and buy one of those 3 tier greenhouses. Can i put them straight into this, as they have been inside up until now???

I have put them in my dark outhouse for now as someone said put them in the dark after repotting to allow the to recover.

Thanks alot for all your help.

I've never heard this one - if you put them in the dark, they're going to get drawn & straggly through lack of light. (IMHO of course!)
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Maybe you could invite this advisor to join the forum?  I'd like to see the reasoning behind this one!

I think your adviser might have gotten confused. You don't want to put your newly transplanted seedlings into direct sunlight immediately after repotting as that can shock them a bit. But on the other hand, they shouldn't actually be grown in the dark. The longest they'd need to recover out of direct sunlight is probably a day at most.
wistfully hoping to one day be mostly organic gardener in North London.

Only manure bad for potatoes is fresh manure especially fresh poultry manure.

Obviously more candidates to be invited to the forum for a good Munty talking to.
