Thank you for 'passing on' your dads gems of information.

I have to admit I have often thought to myself over the last couple of weeks, I wish my grandparents were still here so i could pick their brains :( They were all keen growers and I never got to the stage of wanting to know whilst they were around.

Instead I shall no doubt be back here on a regular basis to pick all of your brains :D

There'll be loads of people willing to have a go at helping.... I'm sure.

I started off allotmenting when the plot got too much for my dad.... he had worked it for 50 years so it seemed daft to give up brilliant productive soil.

I wonder, occasionally, if my 23 yr old son will keep up the tradition once this old boy can't cope! ::)
