Moving fruit bushes
« on: February 08, 2009, 22:45 »
Hi I bought some fruit bushes (blackcurrent, redcurrent, gooseberry) from J Parker. They arrived just before Christmas and I heeled them in.

Is it still ok to replant them as I think they are too close?  If so what spacing do you recommend?

Thank you

Not, it's not too late as they wouldn't have set any sizeable roots yet. Plant a minimum of 2 ft apart. 3 ft is better if you can.

It is OK to move them now, but you will not get much of a crop this summer.  All the fruit you mention (especially gooseberries) are best planted before the end of December.

But moving won't kill them.
Good luck
