I need your expert help please!!
I thought Clara, my little ranger, was the clever girl laying the most beautiful ginger coloured eggs but today I discovered it is not her!  :cry: Her lovely warm egg was the regular pale coloured shell.
Barbara (Rhode Rock) has been laying similar coloured eggs too and Clucky and Margot (Speckledys) have been laying pale speckled eggs.
So throught this process of elimination I now only have the choice between Penny (Welsummer) or Cindy (Barnvelder).
 :oops: I did NOT name these 2 hens!! :oops:
Both have smallish combs but pink, but larger wattles (red).
Any suggestions which chicken would lay what coloured egg?!

It could be either!! I'm no eggspert though....  Look on the top of the hen house and Babe has put a topic egg v chicken it may help???


Ps where abouts in wolverhampton are you?  We live there too sort of!

hi there im also new to this and have only had my chickens for 4mnths. my two chickens lay and i have two different eggs, i have no idea who lays which so im sorry i cant help you there.

I'd hazard a guess at the Welsummer they lay reddy coloured eggs don't they  :?

 blown that idea then Sarah, that eggs not much darker than my x's lay but I have noticed they are a little lighter than last year.

Are you sure it isn't one of the speckeldy's ? My speckle has alot of maran in her and she lays very dark eggs- almost chocolate coloured.
