Hi Hooee and welcome :D

Best bet would be to block off the nest box at night and unblock as early as you can. She'll be forced to find soemwhere else, hopefully a perch.

Also, the perches need to be higher than the nest box and the nest box wants to be dark and as low down as feasible. You could try hanging a piece of sacking or hessian over the front of it.

Where in the world are you out of nosiness ?

I was always led to believe that the perches needed to be lower than the boxes????

no, deffo higher Andy.

They like to be at the highest point they can get to, in fact if you have 2 perches that can only fit 3 birds on each and you have 6 birds, they will all try to get onto the highest perch!

Nope. They seek out somewhere low and dark to lay and like to perch high.

Left to their devices they will lay under a bush or hedge and perch in a tree.

The coop aims to emulate this setup.

I go camping in Danbury. And drinking in the Bell.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Hooee do you check that your girls have gone to bed? If yes then is one of them sleeping in the nest box. If yes to all questions then quietly pick her up and place her on the roosting bar. After a few nights she will get the idea.
