People rave about all sorts of things Munchkin from drinking 2 litres of water a day to burying a piece of meat to cure warts - doesn't make them valid though ;)

And buying a piece of rhubarb to cure club root!

Define "so many".

The ones that rave about it, are they connected in anyway?

I don't know. I'm just asking the questions that you could research for yourself.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Not connect in anyway....unless there is some kind of rock dust conspiracy group LOL. Search for rock dust on youtube and you'll see lots of different peoples vids on it.

Rock dust is a good way for quarry companies to get rid of something that to them is a bl**dy nuisance. If they can con 'green' gardeners into buying it so much the better. Without a full analysis of the product it's meaningless. Rock dust from a sandstone quarry would be....sand. From a limestone quarry it would be.....lime. From a granite or basalt quarry you'd end up with a lot of insoluble silicates (sand) and trace amounts of other stuff which would be in your soil anyway. It would probably improve the structure of a heavy clay soil but there's cheaper ways to do that.

I can't speak for volcanic ash - didn't do the gardens in Pompeii much good. Personally I prefer rocking horse poo myself. I understand its quite rare but worth every shovelful.
