I need some advice and hope you can help - I have two whitestars and a goldstar all bought at the same time. They have been living happily together for about six weeks but during the last couple of weeks one of the whitestars has been pecked by the others leaving a pink bald patch under her tail. She's laying and eating fine and seems happy but I need to stop this happening and help her recover before it becomes infected. All comments gratefully received

It's worth checking for lice. Sometimes that can cause pecking.

Welcome to the hen house

Your best bet would be to get some purple spray and give her a squirt with that, hen's are attracted to red so the pecking will continue otherwise.

Think there has also been suggestions of tea tree oil but I would go with the purple spray if it were me.
You can get it from Horesey feed shops I think that's what it's known as so ask for purple spray.

Have you given her a good looking over to make sure ther isn't an underlying reason why they are attacking her??

Have a look round her vent check it looks clean with no signs of any creepy crawlies, have a look here if your not sure what to look for
