I'm impressed with the brassica cage. What happens if they get out?

If the brassicas get out the pigeons swoop down from the electric cable and gobble them up!

Seriously, they sit there surveying the site for the next meal. Personally I'd like to turn them into pigeon pie

Go on them John, pigeon pie is supposed to be quite nice isn't it?  But you've got to use young pigeons!!!  So the older ones will still eat your brassicas!  The pigeons are eating my purple sprouting broccoli now its decided to sprout at last, but luckily, there is plenty to go around!!

We have pigeons but I'm not sure how hard they are.
We have a lot of problems with foxes who play on our plots - what do they  think this is, a place of leisure?

Ha, we've got rabbits at ours and I keep wondering how I can eat them (thats a yum face not a razz).

Seriously though, I'm not allowed to catch them, and they eat peoples veg.

Rabbits are a nightmare. You need to borrow that fish chef's dog, Chalky. He has a bit of a reputation with rabbits.

I know ways to catch them from 'tales of old poachers', I've never done it. Don't know why I shouldn't be allowed to though.

There's a pheasant round our allotments too.

I asked a chap who goes shooting about pest controlling on allotments and he told me the law is pretty strict about shooting even with an air rifle.  I'd rather eat a pigeon that went out with a bang than some poor battery chicken any day.  Never forget visiting a chicken processing factory - ghastly place.

When I worked for the National Farmers Union, we went on a visit to a battery farm, horrid place!!!! Poor little chickens, stacked in cages 5 high with nowhere to turn, pity the poor chicken on the bottom!!!!
