well looking forward to trying them tonight, only a hand full ready at a nice size, also dug up 1st parsnips of the season aswell, I have been lucky this year it was only peas that did not work for me, all other crops have been fantastic.

plenty there at a good size but like them when
they've had a good frost on them, even the early ones,
 if we get one..might just rain and rain!!

They'll make a nice change from beans and cabbage

Hi mike pick the sprouts when they are the size you like, from the bottom up.

Hi Mike I started to pick early this year, so my season will be longer, I found that last year there was so much wasted as I waited for them to grow to a larger size then it was feast or famine.

some of my sprouts look ready too, i may pick some this week. also, i think its going to be a good season for parsnips.  i thinned some out recently that i had missed earlier in the season and they looked FAB!! fingers crossed that they will make up for other crops that have been rubbish with all of this weather.

Some of my caterpillars are big enough to eat  :evil: They absolutely decimated my sprouts while i was away on holiday. On the plus side they do seem to be making a bit of a comeback.

Checked my sprouts yesterday and found no caterpillars at all.  Found about 50 tiny snails though - we seem to have had a plague of snails this year.

me too Wombat,  the small '@' shaped ones.  they crush up easily enough and Bossy Betty was on hand to gobble them all up for me!
