Runny chutney !

Well my batch of chutney I made on Sunday has turned out a little runny  :(  can I put it back in the pan and reduce it some more ? or will I poison myself  :?:

That will be fine just be careful to heat it through slowly as it is very easy to burn it

As poolfield 2 says,  you can reduce it some more, but as chutney is left to mature, if you jar it up as you think its right today, as it matures it will get more dry, and you might finish up with it being too dried out.  As it matures the chutney will sink and the fluid will rise, so when you eventually open it you can either spoon a little off, or just give it a good stir round.  Hope this helps.  Mrs Bouquet

Thanks Mrs B, I'll bare it in mind for my next batch, I've reduced it down further today.
