Not sure if this will work but I will hace a go at posting some photos that I took this morning.

I always find that work gets in the way of life.

I thought I would check that it was working before I posted the other 4!  I couldnt take a photo of it as a whole because of getting it all in.

We have started to clear a little of it (my daughter is helping in one of the photos) as I have ordered some brassicas to go in.  There is an area that has been covered in black sheeting so we are starting with the area next to this.  One thing I hadnt noticed when we were there was the amazing view.  I hadnt really had time to look before and I suppose it is so similar to the view from our house that we just dont notice anymore but it really is fabulous.

:D

what a view. Is that Riber Castle?  That is going to be idyllic!

Please don't be tempted to do to much first off and hurt your back. Enjoy it and pace yourself. It will still be there tomorrow.  Make it fun and the time will just fly by  :D

Honest

Yes at least I can sit back afterwards and admire the view scabs!

Hubby is intending on taking a couple of old garden chairs up tonight to put in the shed and I have a feeling that a couple of bottles of beer may make their way up there over the weekend.

I just hope it stops raining long enough for us to get up there on Sunday and Monday.

Yes compostqueen - it is Riber Castle.

If you know Matlock, the allotments are just off Chesterfield Road, opposite St Josephs School (the old convent).

I've not been to Matlock for yonks.  I used to love taking the kids to Riber Castle. Pity the zoo had to close  :(

My plot has no view unfortunately. Good job I suppose as I'm always daydreaming  :D

Now that you have a plot, Wilko will suddenly be the place to shop  8)

Its quite nice to see Riber Castle from a different side.  We live right at the top of Matlock Bath and have a fantastic view of Riber and the castle and it always looks so different when you see it from Matlock.

So now we have a view of two sides of the castle.

And yes, look out Wilkos - here I come.

Is your plot steep then?  If you have a warm, south facing slope, think grape vines  :D

Do you still have a Woollies? They often have good fruit trees and such. I got my plastic growhouse in the sale  :D

I'm so jealous.   :(

I'm on the waiting list for a new site but its taking forever.  They still have not agreed the site.  At least I get copied in on the allotment committee minutes so I know whats going on which is more than some people on the waiting list.

Lovely crop of sunflowers btw.

No the plot is actually quite level.  Yes - there still is a Woolies!!

I have waited 2 and a half years for this Greenowl and even now I really shouldnt have it as I dont live in Matlock (I live 2 miles away in Matlock Bath) so I am not eligible for one.  But we dont have any in Matlock Bath so I have no choice.

But my dad does live in Matlock so he has become a joint tenant with me.
