hi and welcome...i'm new too (well since yesterday)

depends on how big and boldthe hens are and how bold the cat is i suppose!
is he licking his lips and rubbing his tummy?

My cat ignores mine, even the new small ones ,but she's a lazy cat!

My X Batts chased my Jack Russell when I first got them.  Now all is peace and quiet on the ranch.  Depends really how much attitude each side has (Chicken and Cat).

I'm new to this aswell, but have 3 chooks and 4 cats and they get along fine, the cats tend to keep their distance from the chooks and the chooks seem completely indifferent to the cats  :D

My cats keep their distance from the ducks. If they get too close they get chased. Then again I have wimpy cats when it comes to the ducks. One of them got chased off by a day old duckling who ran up to him and bit his nose! Even better they kill the rats (the cats, not the ducks  )
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

Welcome Arkwright.

Our chooks are in a run but I don't think they'd take any stick from the cat. She likes to watch but is easily scared.

I think a big cat and small hens might be a different story.

Hi Arkwright

One of my cats pretends that there are no such things as chickens in his garden, the other is interested but not brave enough to get really close.  The girls gave  him a right telling off when he sat on the top of the run so he hasn't tried to again.

this is Remy our young kitten pushing his luck with our chickens... Biggins is not very impressed and eventually had a bit of a pop at him!
I have a few cats and never  had a problem with chickens even the small bantams, would leave them with young chicks though.

You know what Foxy, you have quite the star in that Biggins. He seems such a wonderful protective cockerel. A looker too.
