Am I right in thinking that the leaves of fennel can be eaten.  I have two different packs both grown for their bulb.  One is called Romanesco grown for bulb by suffolk herbs that does say you can eat the leaves and the other packet is T&M Victoria which doesn't mention eating leaves that is also grown for bulb.  May have planted both packs and if I did I def don't know which is which.  What I am trying to say is although the T&M pack doesn't say so can the leaves be eaten............gawd really should go back to work I'm losing the use of clear language.

Just went and cut some and tasted.  Shame they smell more of fennel than they taste.  Thanks for the link, iwantanallotment.

Oh wow after reading the link tasted the stems attached to the fronds, lovely and strong sweet taste, the fronds don't taste of much just look pretty.  So without the link I would have given up.............so ta very much.

Think I will put them in OH salad at last min though as will overwhelm with flavour as bay leave do.

So as I have been reading people saying about their bulb sizes ..mine are still small as well there is your answer.

PS it does say on my suffolk herbs pack ready in September though so time yet for bulbs to bulb up.
