Too Late for Summer Cabbages?
« on: August 07, 2008, 15:58 »
Hi,

I just bought some cabbage seedlings from the garden centre and faithfully planted them out straight away!

On arriving home I looked up Hispi in the books and they say it is a summer cabbage variety that should have been planted out in June!

If the garden centre is selling seedlings is it a safe bet they can be planted now, will they have enough time left to harvest in autumn?

Cheers

I've just sown another batch cos the first were so nice, so hope so!
They're quick growing so would expect there to be enough time left for them to mature, but I'm only guessing (and hoping)

Should be OK - there's at least 3 months of good growing weather left.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
