I almost daren't go down to the plot tomorrow - it's quite a few days since I last went down, and it's been hot and rainy since then.

What on earth possessed me to grow 3 plants (and that's before you count the squash plants)

P.S. There's only me to eat them.  That second freezer I bought over the winter is nooooooo way going to be big enough  :o
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, Yorkie1, but many of us have found courgettes on their own don't freeze that well

Thanks, trillium

I've got loads from last year which I keep forgetting to add to casseroles (I make a lot of them and they're not too bad in these if you don't add them too early in the cooking).  Going to try sauteeing or roasting them first too this year.

Courgettes are great in soups, especially frozen ones as they tend to get mushy.

Made a courgette & dill soup as have a glut of dill too, it's yum.  Also made a courgette pie (Greek stylee with feta), put some in a stir fry last night, only have 4 big uns now to sort out unless any more have popped up since Wednesday!

Though I had found a solution with our glut, our tortoise likes them, but as he is now being fed them every day, even he is getting bored with them.

I think my 2 courgette plants have been reading your posting, because they haven't produced 1 single courgette.  They obviously don't wish to be part of the glut  !!  Mrs Bouquet

Try roasting the courgettes sliced along with tomatoes, onions, peppers to make ratatouille - just cut everything roughly, dowse with olive oil, salt papper herbs and roast. That freezes ok as it is, or you can blend it to make a delicious sauce for pasta/pizza bases, pouring over chicken or fish - stealth veg for picky eaters of all ages !
Still glowing, still growing, still going strong!

I am going to get a fab courgette n aubergine one from a friend soon.
Will try and post it.

Use a potato peeler, and get some nice big strips of courgette. Dip in a tempura batter, and deepfry. Jamie Oliver says this is nice ;)

Mrs Jee did a courgette carbonara with ours last week, and it was amazing :D
