Second Cropping Potatoes

I'm confused (so what's new!) just got a seed catalogue from DT Brown and they've got "second cropping potatoes" to plant now for eating end Oct/Nove, I thought you couldn't put any more spuds in now?  The way we're munching our way through our spuds sounds like a good idea, but they are quite expensive at £4.95 per 10 tubers or am I just stingy?

am planning on getting some soon too :) Planning to try and leave pots in the ground till Christmas - I read that if you fleece them up they'll last ;) fingers x'd it's as mild a winter as last year. :)

I've just put some in - bought some expensive ones first, then found that my local nursery was selling them for £2.50/kg, so got a load more...36 maris peer seeds to the kilo!

Can I put them in the same place I had my earlies - not much room at the moment, and do I need to do anything first, I'm wary about manuring at the moment!

I bought Charlottes last year to have at Christmas - well enough for one meal (for two) not what they said in their blurb

Well you can but think about crop rotation.  Growing the same crop in the same place can lead to diseases and the soil being exhausted.

I thought about crop rotation, but it would stuff up my plans somewhat as my next rotation starts next year, hmmm I'll have to think about this one!

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Could do I suppose but don't want to use sacks again, as the plants have been very badly damaged by slugs and snails.  I might just buy one lot and do tubs just for the novelty of having a meal of new spuds at Christmas time.

I have some first early seed potatoes double wrapped in brown paper bags in the bottom of my fridge. They have been there since March and I'm hoping they will be good to plant at the end of August.
