hi all, is there such a thing as organic weedkiller? i want to get rid of bramble roots a safe way as it is an enormous area to dig out, any tips?

I've found a mattock or azada just the ticket for that sort of job

I had a stretch with brambles on my first lottie. I double dug the bed and then some more for the really deep roots. It did work but I wouldn't dig that deep again unless it was to break a hard pan. If I have trouble with them after digging as far as I can without trenches, on my new lottie and veg patches, I'm going to try simply hoeing them every week. I don't have too many though.

If you do dig really deep, be careful to put the subsoil back in the bottom.
