This is as are all the others from the same family as the potato. It is a solanium and the birds love to nest in them. They are beautiful and hardy even in Yorkshire. Children don't bother with mine and I have never heard of any one else having problems. You will love the display of flowers too and they are good for privacy without casting too much shade. :wink:
I know less today than I did yesterday, and I knew nothing then!

Beware.  I believe this plant is a source of atropine which causes the heart rate to increase.  I may be wrong, I frequently am. :roll:

That picture is of "Woody Nightshade", only mildly poisonous not deadly !

You can get quite a nice variegated form in the garden centres.

The deadly nightshade in the pic you posted? The most toxic nightshde? It must have an italian name, every plant does.  That way, I get the proper seeds :D
