my husband came home from the garden centre with a yellow raspberry cane ive never seen yellow ones befor has any one grown any of them and if so how did you get on with them

Is it Autumn Gold?  If so, just like any other primocane type.  It'll fruit on this year's wood, so tie in shoots as they emerge, and cut the whole lot off at ground level once the leaves turn.

I think there are some yellow summer types too, and they fruit on last year's wood (you may get a small crop this autumn on new wood, but not much).  Basically, cut out old canes after they fruit and leave the new growth for the following year.

There are different yellow raspberries and I cant speak for all. Mine is Autumn Gold, very rampant, good flavour, but it does not travel any minutes, also very prone to molds and rots of fruit in the autumn damp, good to eat from the bush.
