It affects all us blokes that way bodge! what you need is to do a manly task straight after dealing with them

like today, i spent ten minutes sat on the floor in the run stoking and cuddling my girls, talking sweetly to them and calling them 'sweetie' and 'darling'

I then went and put shelves up in the garage, and spent a while swearing at the rawlplugs

I'm thinking of getting a couple of bantams, but I don't know what sort.  The pullet that I called Rosemary, still can't decide whether she's a hen or a cockerel, and she has another pullet with her and they are both much smaller than the rest of the flock, and they were terribly bullied by the others.  so I want Brian to make me a small henhouse just for them, andI'd like them to hve a couple of friends, but I'm a bit dubious about putting them in with the big girls again.

So I thought a couple of banties would be nice as company for them!

Freddy the cockerel has to go in the pot, as the new chicks are due Thursday next week and I need the broody shed where he is living at the moment!!!

I went to get some more Light Sussex hatching eggs yesterday. Here's what I'm hoping that I'll end up with.

I'm so laid back with hatching chicks now, I don't tend to bother messing about with them anymore. I know when they were put under the broodys and if they hatch, then they hatch.

Promising signs.
The Light sussex eggs are due to hatch on Wednesday, but this morning I carefuly lifted up one of the broodys and although there wasn't a visual sign of any eggs hatching, I could quite clearly hear the chicks cheeping.

Hey, Bodger, Munty was breeding and hatching all sorts of birds and none of us dared think of him as 'wispy', so don't even worry about it.

I'm now the proud keeper of Light Sussex chickens    I've just checked under one of the broodys and she has some very brilliantly white chicks. Compulsory chick pix to follow this evening.
