Has anyone had an egg like this before or know whats caused it? It was still hard and was normal inside???

Eggs like this do happen occasionally and there can be quite a number of causes including infection stress or shock. It is only a problem if it is happening all the time. If she goes back to normal shells then you'll know there in no serious underlying problem.

I had the same thing last year. I never knew which hen it was that laid them like it, though they stopped after a couple of months. The eggs inside were perfectly okay. They look funny though!

:roll: oo don't know what they have to be stressed or shocked about unless its delayed! They appear to be absolutely brimming with confidence since meeting the outside world
We have only had the one so hopefully its not an infection but i'll keep a watch on them. Thanks for advice !

We've had these types of egg, nothing that we can see has upset the ladies, but then who knows what they see and hear during the day and night, and how differently it can look and hear to them. Our eggs return to normal more or less straight away.
