Weed identification
« on: March 12, 2022, 07:36 »
Hi All,
1st time back here for a good while. I've got this weed on my plot and struggling to get rid of it. It's like a carpet.  What's its name do you know thanks

Hi and welcome back  :)

Its liverwort and grows on heavier soils where drainage is poor.   It should die off as the weather warms up. Cultivating the soil and incorporating organic matter will help as well.  I used to get it growing on my plot, but as I have dug in compost over the years, I don’t see it much now.

Thanks for that. What you say makes sense because it is in the shade of a tree.
