weed 3

weed 4 (not the dandelion on the left!)

1)  is a seed which has just germinted so no problem, just hoe them off.

2) Could be Rosebay willow herb, Dig it out.

3) Could b fat hen, again hoe it out.

4)  Dandylions have deep roots and you should try to dig it all out.  The other leaves look like Ground Elder to me, and I'd dig it out and possibly nuke it if it comes back.

cheers for that.  looked up ground elder and fat hen on the internet, seen a few more pics and its definitely them.  would really like to know what the top one is cos it is everywhere, even in the grass.  could it be a seed from local trees?

If you've got rosebay willowherb, the seeds blow everywhere so could be that from previous years.

If you look carefully at number 3, there's a low-lying darker green weed just behind the rosebay.  It too is a weed; I have loads of it and it has tiny white flowers.  I always think of it as speedwell but as I've not looked it up, I could be waaaaaaaay off with that name!!
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I thought 1 was sycamore too, as they are just like the ones munty showed me growing all over the place when I was up in Scotland.  In fact I think we hve one in the garden, but don't know where it came fom, as I don't think we have any sycamores around.

We do have these things around the edge of the garden that they put in when they did the new road.  They are not hazel, but they have a catkin thing that looks like a hairy caterpillar, and they blow EVERYWHERE and there are thousands of the blooming things growig all over the garden!

The little dark weed in #3 is hairy bittercress. Mind your eyes pulling it up if it has seed pods, they fling seed everywhere.
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

Bittercress. Rosebay has toothed leaves, I believe. This fellow pretty much looks like the one with smooth leaves and underground stolons, getting about a bit, it does.
