Feeding blueberries
« on: July 23, 2019, 08:47 »
My 4 container blueberry bushes are putting out lots of lovely new growth. I am feeding them with an ericacious liquid food. My question is when should I stop feeding them so that I don't promote new growth too near to winter?

How often are you feeding them? I'd start reducing the feed sometime in mid-August so they can use up what's left in the soil and start hardening up before winter.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Good advice from Goosegirl.

Come the Spring, you could also give them a top dressing of Potassium Sulphate and change the top 3cm of compost for new (ericaceous of course  :D) That would get them off to a good, slow release start to the year
