What is causing this
« on: June 25, 2019, 19:59 »
Hi everyone, I'm a bit new and looking for advice please. I've attached pictures of my most pressing problems, I'm sure I'll be back with more soon 😂

Something is wrong with my tomato plants, I suspect blight but have read that this is rare and confused with magnesium deficiency. Can anyone please confirm what is wrong? It seems to have affected all my plants but some more than others.

Also, something is eating my sprouts, I know slug damage when I see it and this isn't it! I suspect pigeons but would love confirmation and possible solutions.

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately blight isn’t as rare as I would like. Indeed I find it is very common on my outdoor tomatoes! It tends to attack when there is rain and high humidity.....in other words somewhat like the current conditions. Probably the only solution for pigeons is a physical barrier, cage etc.
Good luck

Tomato - Looks like blight to me too.  I would cut offending leaves off.  I always grow them in polytunnels and rarely get it now.

Brassicas - Could be slugs, caterpillars or pigeons.  Pellets, netting and netting.

Early in the season for blight but I have to say, looking a bit like it to me.

The brassicas look like snail or slug damage to me but pigeons cause similar destruction.

This is my 1st full year growing and the biggest lesson Ive learned is: cover everything up.
