Feeding apples, raspberries and blueberries
« on: March 02, 2016, 21:28 »
I have chicken manure pellets, sulfate of potash and turbobooster.
What should I feed to above fruits and when (I guess ASAP).

Put a couple of handfuls of chicken manure pellets per apple tree (assuming dwarf to semi-dwarf) and about half a handful of sulphate of potash around the extremity of the top growth.

About the same per square yard on your raspberries and half the amount per blueberry bush.

All very hit and miss as it depends on the fertility of your soil and how easily nutrients are leached. As long as the leaves are looking a nice dark green and healthy shape you can't be far wrong.

Do it any time now. The potash will help with blooming.  I would also give them a seaweed extract watering as well so you know they are getting most trace elements.

No idea what 'turbobooster' is, so can't help you there.

Thanks for that I meant turbo fruiter

"The chemical composition is 5-5-10 (nitrogen, phosphate and potash) plus essential trace elements and magnesium application rate is 35 grams per sq metre (one bag will treat approximately 570 square metres)
The price per kilo is considerably cheaper than you would pay when buying a similar product in small boxes from DIY stores or garden centres"

sounds perfect and worth it - buying potash alone is quite expensive (I get mine from our allotment shop where it is bought in bulk and weighed out in smaller lots so works out cheaper than from the shops, but it is still my most expensive purchase)  As it is a "complete" feed, you don't need to add anything else.

That sounds ideal, I wouldn't bother with the pellets or Sulphate of Potash as you have it all in one.

I also add a small handful of sulphur chips around the root area of blueberries to keep the soil on the acid side.

Interestingly (for a non-chemist), the sulphur in 'sulphate of potash' will not help to acidify your soil.

I use pine shreddings.
