I have read that Sarpo Mira can taste very bland is there any truth in this?

There's probably some truth in it, but peoples tastes vary and so does the taste of potatoes grown in different soils. Only way to know is to try some yourself. My plot neighbours grow some each year and like them, so I'm going to try some next year as there's are still standing whereas all my Desiree went down with blight a couple of months ago

I will try a row next year then I think because our spuds on our site went down with blight very early this year.

My finding has been that when they were crisp and firm they were pretty tasteless but blight-free. Now they have been stored for a year and getting a bit soft, they taste a bit like crisps when they are roasted or even boiled, if you like that sort of thing. I do, so I would plant them again.

Our treasurer grew them last year and brought most of them in to give them away.  He won't grow them again as he found them so tasteless.

I tried them and they were OK I suppose but nothing special.
