The wet end  was under a couple of inches of water, but it was going down by the time I left.  Also gained a plastic cloche which had blown in from somewhere. :nowink:

Managed to get a fire going, consequently still getting wafts of smoke-smell when I turn my head quickly.

Pulled some leeks for the dinner.

For down on the plot you might be able to pick up a second hand one.... most sites tend to be fairly open so it's always a risk.

It is open, right on the south coast cliff ! I am not going to bother with another.

Was dry on Sunday so burnt some rubish wood then stuck the ash on the veg patch.
Cheers

Topped up the soil in one of the beds.  Weeded another.  Noted someone had nicked a cabbage.  Inspected the hole someone has made in the fence at the bottom of the site.   The council have sent someone to weld a very spiky spinner on top of the gate to deter thieves.  Odd really as they wouldn't let us have anti climb paint on the fence.

Mended short run of fence between myself and other half plot holder on plot number 1. It's amazing what a few iron stakes and that rubber coated wire can do. It's not brilliant but will stand up as long as there aren't any winds as strong as of late.
Redid the black plastic covering on the full compost bins as they were looking decidedly dodgy. Otherwise not much to do as ground too wet to dig.
I have my own cement mixer and not afraid to use it!!

A bit off topic, but was wondering if you have kept doors at both ends?

Sunday I dug out some couch grass an spread some muck. the better half prepped some timer for making a few boxed in beds for carrots and strawberries.

Brought some grow bags on offer in home base + 15% off.

Sowed some broad beans inside, rats will eat them on the plot.

Sowed 36 broad beans "The Sutton" into modules for our allotment's plant scheme and they went into the greenhouse.
It was a lovely sunny morning to work outside for a change.
The plot is still too wet to install the new raised beds.

Sowed Broad beans The Sutton, Sprouts Evesham Special, Autumn Brocolli, Cauliflower All-year-round, Sweet Peppers, Sweet Basil, Basil Red Robin and Tomatoes Garten Perle. Couldn't wait any longer :nowink:

On the plot I've dug over a raised bed, put up the cloche on it, so I can sow early salad crops. Finished of the edging on the pathway. All still very wet but it was great to get out and do something.

well, managed 6 hours down the lottie on Sunday, had a good tidy at the back of the plot. Rain back today, so just took 2 trees down to repair the gaps in the hedge at the back of the lottie, which  the previous neighbour caused by setting fire to his shed and part of my hedge.  >:(
