It will probably be a mistake but I put out a couple of 3m plastic tunnel cloches and sowed a couple of rows of parsnip and carrot with Crimson Forest spring onion between the rows. Its my first full year on my plot and I am trying to get a head start. I guess the sunshine got the better of me today!!!

Got some kale for lunch and checked for any damage.

There is still a lot of white fly around I think I will have to spray it soon.

Dug up a row of parsnips and then emptied the last few bags of manure onto the parsnip bed as have only got one row of parsnips left in the ground now. Stupidly put the bags down to go and get the rake to level out the manure and spent the next 10 mins chasing the bags around the site as the wind blew them all over the place. Was good exercise but looked a right idiot chasing them about.
Not much else done as ground so wet and can't put anything in yet.
I have my own cement mixer and not afraid to use it!!

Spent a few hours at the allotment today, finished cutting back raspberries, cleared the dead leaves from the turnip bed, finished tidying up the strawberries.a bit late but put some pots over the rhubarb to force some on.my son dug over three raised bed and an area I had potatoes in last year.I'm up the side of a hill so soil doesn't get to heavy.starting to look like my allotment again and not a neglected corner.put my three varieties of potatoes in trays to chit and some compost in my leek tray,it's in the kitchen now warming up before sowing my leeks.happy enough but I'm searching the house for my veg diary to see when and what I planted last year!

Began construction of two more raised bed frames.  No point in assembling them until the ground has dried out a bit - too muddy.
Sprinkled GrowOrganic around the winter onions as they are looking in need of a tonic.

Sowed peas in guttering and broad beans in pots placed both in the conservatory. Brief visit to plot spread mushroom compost mixture onto the enlarged potato bed.

Cheers HH
Keep digging

Washed / cleaned and tidied Greenhouse, planted Cherry tree in a massive planter, started/planted mushroom spores, mixed / turned compost heaps, and re-potted 3 strawberry plants into 10" pots. Most productive day in ages, it was nice to have the sun on my back for a change!

Popped down yesterday and spread some manure, put back the onion sets the birds had pulled, dug a few parsnips, took away the damaged netting pulled up the misc cabbagy type plants.

Popped down at lunch today and did half an hours digging in an area I didn't dig last year full of couch grass can't believe that stuff if still growing at the time of year it had already started to spread back into an area I dug before Christmas.

All the sunshine got me so excited that I've just sorted through all my seeds!

placed seed potatoes in trays. Onion sets, usually plant them out this time of year, due to the saturated ground,  planted them in trays in greenhouse. Quickly laid remaining slabs for a small patio area in front of greenhouse, will set them properly later in the year when its dry (fingers crossed).

If this wet weather continues I'm seriously considering growing rice

Cleared a drain gulley, put a thick layer of leaf mold mulch around some fruit bushes, dug up some leeks, weeded one side of the poly tunnel. WOW, all in 1 1/2 hrs.

Planted about 120 garlic. 90 outside and covered over to try and warm them up a bit. the other 30 went in the poly, also sowed purple carrots, nantes2, spring onions and beetroot in the poly for early cropping. :) :)
