Hi all,
I was digging up my veg patch today, and in a portion of it, I uncovered what seemed like very white, paint like threads.
Any idea of what they may be?

I found it at home when I moved house and began working a patch not touched for years    it seemed associated with bramble roots.  It,s not been a problem though

Yes, we found a lot around the bramble roots too.

The 'world' of fungal spread is a huge subject, and we listened in awe to the Curator of the Bedgebury Pinetum, when he spent several minutes explaining how beneficial some fungi are, and the ways they manifest themselves into toadstools etc!

Some fungal strands apparently go literally miles, and create all sorts of good organisms for creative growth, so I'd be happy to have a few more round my leekss please...;0)

Definitely sound like fungi mycelium. If all looks well there, I wouldn't worry. As far as I know, Honey fungus has black boot lace-looking mycelium so it doesn't appear to be that.
