Carrot and onion for me :D

The carrots were slow to get going, but the autumn kings especially are looking the best size I've ever had but had to repeat sow.  The Kelsae and Bedfordshire (seed) didn't bolt.  First year with Kelsae ... Wow, they are very nice onions  :D

First time with outdoor cucumber - not spectacular, but we got some fruit.

No blight on the tatties.

The turnips (aka swede) look like they are more than their usual necks.

Just need to keep the rodents off the carrots and parsnips now, and the slugs are making a late entry on the brassicas .....

I'll be growing Kelsae next year for sure.

That's my highlights from a rare dry summer ... Since we love carrots and onions, a repeat next year will suit me nicely  :D

Everything, except garlic, onions and potatoes, which were OK but a bit underwhelming.   Best crops were peas, beans, winter squash, courgette, beans of all sorts, peas, pak choi, carrots, cucumber and
 soft fruit of all varieties.

Peas were brilliant, if a bit later than normal and alad stuff did well before and after the hot spell  :)
As it got hotter and dryer beans and cabbages struggled a bit, despite the watering, until we got some rain. I just hope I watered the swede enough  ::)

Onions would have been brilliant if they hadn't got the white rot, I lost about half of them :(

Potatoes weren't good - the Charlottes nearly all got blackleg and the Desiree were badly scabbed.

So a mixed year - but all in all much better than last year ;)

Broad beans, brassicas cues, cougettes and tomatoes. No so good with the carrots parnips and beetroot and alliums too dry and sowed some at the wrong time had a glut of these last year. Only my 2nd year so learn from my mistakes.

It was the year of the runner beans here. Lol  it still is as they are nit slowing at al,

Mind you everything was good huge amounts of beetroot, potatoes, courgettes, cabbage, fruits but the runner just wins the race. Runners do what runners do best.

It was my first ear and definitley the year of the tomatoes for me. Only had 4 plants outside but they produced buckets and buckets of cherry toms! Got sick of them haha.

Pretty much everythingi have grown has done quite well this year for me (any losses were mainly due to animals). Looking forward to next year when I will have even more space!

My first allotment season starting in April, potatoes not as good as I've had in the garden, but then didn't water them as was distracted by....
ROOTS  :D always grown on  clay before so carrots/turnips/beets/radishes a great joy and getting excited about parsnips/swedes.
Toms! my first ever without bottom rot, Corn! yum but it's deffo The Year of the Cue (by the bucket loads) for me.

Isn't it always like this year then??  :tongue2:

It was the year of broad beans, sweetcorn, strawberries, toms, chillies, golden purslane and cape gooseberries for me - essentially a huge salad!  :D My aubergines are making a late bid to be included too.

My potatoes & swedes have been a bit disappointing, the patty pans have still to produce anything, the squashes have only one fruit per vine and the cues produced, but not many. Other things were good, but not outstanding.

I'd love my rhubarb to do a lot better next year - I have plans to make rhubarb vodka.  :)

96 lbs of useable tomatoes  I call that successful after 2 years of losing all to blight. Carrots also doing well ....no fly. Up to this year we've hardly had any to eat...they are yummy. Squash are huge this year. All in all I can't complain.  :D

Beans - of all kinds and peas!  Patty pan squash - by the barrowload.  Salad not so much - it bolted then I didn't get around to re-sowing.  Lovely, lovely year.

The cucumbers did really well as did the spring onions, salad leaves, courgettes (still picking them) but the tomatoes and beetroot did not do so well.

Strawberry :)

Not far off 15lb in total from a 4'x4' bed, plus a couple of hundred wild strawberries.

First year for me with my back garden plot.  New potatoes, spinach broad beans, courgette, runner beans and tomatoes all good - plenty for the 2 of us.  But the star has been aubergines - more than a dozen big beauties from 4 plants.  They have been amazing.  Not so good have been onions, garlic, carrots and parsnips.
