Confused Houseplants
« on: July 02, 2013, 17:03 »
My Clivia and one of my Hippeastrums have produced flower spikes which are just about to open.  The Clivia usually flowers at Christmas and the Hippeastrum in January/February so they are obviously feeling a bit confused!   ???

What should I do about feeding/watering etc?  The Clivia is not supposed to be fed once the flower spike is this well developed, but I am usually still feeding it at this time of year as it is not time for it to 'rest' yet.  Also, if I let the Hippeastrum flower, it either won't have much feeding or much rest before it is due to be started back into proper growth.
