I am thinking of trying to grow some from seed.  Mindful of crop rotation, should I sow it in any particular bed or is it one of those veg you can put anywhere?  Is it easy to grow? Any tips would be much appreciated.

Keep 'em moist and grow 'em fast.  They won't be as big and fat as the shop jobs, but the will be yours.

Cheers,   Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

I never have any success with them at this time of year, they bolt too quickly. I sow mine end of August/September  ;)

As it grows so quickly - I tend to slot it in wherever there's a gap ;)

Ah that's good to hear  :) I have absolutely no gaps at the moment  ::) so I shall wait until after the potatoes come out then.  Thanks!

I never have success with them at any time of year. Every single time they come up and instantly bolt.

I had some as part of a row of mixed oriental greens.  Was a bit of a punt as they went it late due to a cold spring and they have just bolted  ::)  Salvaged some and the chickens ate the rest.

Oriental greens are now off the agenda till autumn as I find summer sowings bolt too fast.

They seem to be better grown in partial shade Shokkyy.  I usually use a green net tunnel.  They are a useful catch crop at the end of the year as Mum says  :)  They will also grow well in the autumn and early winter in a cold greenhouse.
