New to the fertilising lark...
« on: April 27, 2013, 08:25 »
What would happen if I was to overfeed, by misreading instructions?

I havent I am just curious.
When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

You could scorch the plants. An example of this is when some animal urinates on a lawn, there is a dead scorched patch surrounded by a region of lush growth.

Depends on what sort of fertiliser, by how much you mis-read the instructions, and how often you repeated the mistake!

Generally speaking there's quite a wide degree of tolerance - many of us get away with using a Standard British Handful of almost anything sprinkled over a Standard British Square Yard(-ish) !!
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

I have heard of scorching plants by overfeeding them, but another thing is that you are just pouring your money away as your plants will never use the food.
And on a large scale the surplus fertilizer ends up in the ground water and rivers polluting them.
Sometimes my plants grow despite, not because of, what I do to them.
