This morning saw the first ground frost here in my area.
This marks the end in the wifes eyes of me not been around the house

I suppose I should get all those other jobs done now ...

Nah!  you've got digging to do so that the frost breaks up the ground for you, and then there's the shed roof that needs to be looked at, planning all of your crops for next year, tidying out the greenhouse and washing the glass, washing up all of your pots ready for spring..... the list is endless!

We've had a few frosts, but last night was the coldest. The local weather station monitored -2.9 airtemp, -5.6 ground temp.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Had to defrost the car on Tuesday morning Mashauk but today is really cold and frosty and the 5 day forecast is for it continuing.
I went up to my lottie today to take the covers off my beds so that the cold can get to the nasties lurking there - as recommended by GYO.
Bet they thought they were nice and safe

Darn chilly here.. car wouldn't start, dead battery etc. But I did venture out of the house this morning cos it looked warmer out than in. You certainly had to keep moving to be cosy. Took this frosty pic. Thankfully we live on the sunny side of the hill

My garden didn't defrost at all yesterday and I noticed parts of the plot today were still  somewhat crisp even if not completely solid.  But it was lovely to work in, cold enough to kill nasties but with teh sun it was pleasant to work in with a coat and hat on!

Couldn't scrape the ice off the windscreen this morning until the recycling lorry driver came and gave me a squirt of his spray.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
