Yeah I know I shouldn't have sown them so early, but I have chilli and pepper seedlings and not sure the minimum temp needed to keep them going.
They are indoors on a sunny windowsill but the temp does vary a bit during the course of the day.

Mine are on a window cill  of an unheated bedroom,  in an unheated propagator.

They're fine - too much heat and you'll get too much growth, with low light levels that will mean drawn seedlings.

Never failed yet.

Don't forget the aluminium foil when they germinate!

Bear in mind that a sunny windowsill during the day can often drop 10C overnight, particularly if it is behind curtains and/or a single glazed window.  They need the constant temperature.

Place some aluminium foil behind the plants so that it reflects light back. It will significantly increase the amount of available light and also stop them leaning one way and going leggy.

I've used the foil as a backdrop very effectively. I use it behind the seedlings on any windowsill and it does stop them bending towards the window. Thanks for the reminder.
