Debris netting was fine for us with carrots.

We had just one carrot affected, and I'm not even sure it was the fly anyway.

They add on £9.95 carriage for that!

One question that's not been asked - what crop is it you're aiming to protect?
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

cabbages, caulis, brussels etc

and also something for fruit bushes , the likes of raspberries, strawberries etc

Unless you have some Blue MDPE pipe lying around you might like to consider using the Black instead.  Blue is for underground usage and probably has less UV protection than the Blue - although having said that its very robust stuff so will last a while.

I bought the "Green" debris netting.  It looked a bit bluish in the picture ... its actually a very unnatural colour, so you may want to consider Black instead

Debris netting's fine mesh is good for keeping Cabbage White butterfly out, but the weight of snow will collapse the structure, so it would be best to swap it for a wide mesh net during the winter (when you are just trying to keep the pigeons off).
