I went yesterday and it was glorious. Sunshine, quiet, birds and me. Dug another 1 x 5mtr strip and then realised that I had damaged myself! Ouch, surely 41 is too young for a hip replacement?!!! Seems to be okay today, I think I will sow some seeds rather than go for a dig, especially as it's raining and looking like snow..boo.
My husband's a water sign, I'm an earth sign, together we make mud :-)

My gardening diary is here - go on, have a peek , you might be able to help me!

I thought with the sun shining through the ground would have dried a little more than it actually has, So not much done today... moved the new compost bin down to the plot, knocked up a new raised bed and half filled it. after sliding around on saturated pathways i decided it would be best to call it a day and come home for some lunch.
hopefully it will be a bit dryer tomorrow as i have potted garlic that i think  really needs planting out..

Was hoping to get down to my plot today and start digging pft woke up to rain :(

did a little sowing, onions, cali, kale, globe artichokes in the mini greenhouse and lavender on the window sill.

Also cut the rosemary in the garden back by about 1/2 into as good a bush shape as I could poked some of the twigs into the ground and will hope for the best.

realised that I got an extra blueberry plant in with the 2 I brought yesterday so over all a good day!!

It was snowing!  Wouldn't have gone but needed to harvest some veg.  Fingers still painful 8 hours later! Think I narrowly avoided frostbite.  The wretched pigeons ate my Cavolo Nero.  Serves me right for not netting it.  However good parsnips and leeks.  Garlic growing well.

Took lots of horse manure down to the plot, had to go to the farm and shovel it myself, absolutely full of worms. Covered the area by the shed with weed fabric. Onions coming through and lots of buds on the rhubarb
Was snowing so didn't stay too long
Waiting for my seed pots from T&M!
Eagerly waiting to start sowing seeds but holding off

Finished digging the 12 foot square bed and then topped up with manure.  Weeded the blackcurrant bed and then chatted to a couple of fellow allotmenteers. A very pleasant afternoon.

Can totally relate to losing your black kale! My Nero di Toscana has gone - munched!! Grrr.
I dug over my broad bean site this afternoon (despite a shower) and got the beans in. I have fleeced them as expecting the USA and Canada's snow at the end of the week! Our snow down here tends to appear from the Atlantic!!
Also moved a compost darlek as I'd like a new shed and it would be in the way of the door! :D
