Managed to pick some rosemary to go with tonight's dinner.

I picked a clump of rosemary from the plot the other day. The budgies loved it!

With the snow just about all gone and the temperature up to a balmy three degrees and sunny, I planted two bare root apple trees that arrived yesterday, a Grenadier and a Crimson Bramley.
I`m left handed, what`s your excuse?

4 bulk bags of topsoil delivered yesterday, and proceeded to start filling my first newly constructed raised. Will have to wait for the last of the snow to go before doing more anymore.

Ferrett1988 I thought I worked hard today, but sounds like you had a tougher day! My new plot is pretty much exactly half the size of yours but was completely overgrown with weeds, most about 3ft tall. Managed to clear three quarters of it today. Now I just want some drier weather to get the hoe on the smaller weeds, and so I can give it a good dig over. Feels good to be back out on the plot though!

Made a tiny dent in the couch grass on one end of what will be the bed where I'm going to plant the potatoes. Kids were in accident prone mode today with skint knees, brambled hands, bumped heads. I called it a day after an hour before they did anything else but at least it was an hour done that will add up if I keep at it :)

Cleared my strawberry frame of weeds and brambles, so that I can actually plant Strawberries in it this year!
Weeded around my plum trees and mulched the rhubarb. Too wet to dig today, but still a good productive session.

Pulled up some raised beds from the new 1/2 of the plot (wood retained to re-locate them elsewhere).  Put up some plastic mesh fencing, now need o/h to move the fence that currently cuts the plot in two.

Arrived back today from a few days away so bit jet lagged so only managed to get to the lottie to see if the snow had caused any long term damage. Luckily not and as snow all melted now, and theres been a delivery of manure, will be up there tomorrow barrowing loads onto the new asparagus bed  :D

Yesterday, in Wellies, I lifted some late dwarf wallflowers and primroses and transplanted them into large tubs at the front of my parents place.

Then I dug a little and dug a little more. It was lovely to be doing something different and the sun was out for a while too.

The Allotment? Oh yes... I'd forgotten. Maybe at the end of next week when it stops raining

Nipped to the plot first thing to take all the kitchen waste to the compost bins & realised on the way I would be able to harvest some crops as the ground wasn't frozen.
