Hi Yorkie... yes I did - well almost. Just bought 2 extra packets and had to substitute 2 others for a different variety to my list as they had sold out on some - and I was there before official doors opening time as well!! ..

As I dont know what will grow well I got to test myself.. @ £1.50 for 15 tubers I cant complain!! Soooo I bought a pack of each..

My spuds are now going to take up about a 1/4 of the plot.. 10mt x 5   :D  :D
Now a member of the 10 Ton club.... 2013  harvested 588 Kg from 165 sq mt..

Yes Sunny it fits in nicely... and we love spuds hence going to have a mammoth crop if all 218 tubers grow !!  :D

Haha! I wanted to say, it depends when he gets there, how he keeps to his plan, if it's anything like ours. They sell out most years within an hour.

Just so's you know (and DD said this to me as I have what I'd call a pick-and-mix year too  :D ) different sorts store differently, so donlt mix them up when you keep them over.

For example, Pink Fir Apple is the best keeper ever for me, whilst Cara's were great last year: this year shooting all over now and I have had to throw some out  :(

I have some hessian bags and just fill each bag with one sort

Thanks Sunny - yes I am meticulous with that sort of thing. I have all sacks marked and sorted into sizes so i can see what is good or not.  Last year on the 2 small garden shares I dug about 90 kilos in the end and all have nearly gone now... family and friends!! When they start to get a bit old I make mash ans freeze so easy to make cottage pie from it!!

It did seem a shame to throw out those caras but they were very soft and shoots about six/eight inches long too.

Never mind -- have to keep a better eye next year or eat them faster  :lol:
