Worst was my courgettes which I planted out far too early (lesson learnt for next year though) and they died! I have since grown new ones which are now doing well.
Best is definately my sugar snap peas which are romping away ahead of anything else I'm growing and to top it off, they are my favourite. :)

Worst: aubs. two sowings with one chitted as well. they didnt wanted to come out at all.
1 managed to popout out of two sowings and I gave it TLC, Abuse everything the catalogue. finally when it was planted out my son pulled it out thinking it as a weed.
Best: winter onions (white ones) beauty. onward peas have come out of weevil hunt. and everything looks good. Nothing have come home except couple of onions.
One kid is handful. Two kids.... Example for chaos theory. Hats off to my mum who managed three...

Irene - I plant pre-chitted seeds under cloches late Feb/early May and usually manage to pick my first crop of mangetout on my birthday (first week of June) with the first of the first earlies. In spite of the cold winter I'm still on target!

There are 3 types of peas Prakash
mangetout...you just eat the flat pods,
sugarsnaps...you eat pods complete with small peas inside
and 'ordinary' peas..... eat peas and not pods

Over here the mangetout are oriental peas commonly referred to as snow peas. Excellent in stir fries.

Thanks MOS and Tril. I think I've never eaten it. I have tasted mangetout and the similar thing which comes in supermarket's stirfry packet.

Parnips a whole row up at the plot first ever!!! half of my beans rotted in the pots due to my erratic watering and leaving then in tray with no drainage. I have lots of courgettes far too many peppers and chillis and more tomato plants than I know what to do with. But I was looking through my seed box earlier thinking  - ummm now I didnt sow any of these Note to self stop you have more than enough :D :D
