Its been my best ever year for toms - can't quite believe that I was still picking orange parouche on 26 October. Obviously the climate rather than anything I've one in particular.  ;)

Having said that, I think my family are actually getting a little tired of my tomato offerings...

Adopt me! I never tire of tomatoes!

Actually, I've never had any success growing toms outside but great days when under a polytunnel.

I wonder if I can get away with covering half of my garden under a sheet? I might have to do some reading...!

Thinking about it - I did do things a little differently with at least some of the plants this year. I started then off in the GH but when they were planted into their final pots they then went outside. Haven't done that before - will definitely be doing it next year.
Frees up space for other things in the GH . Might not bother with toms at the allotment in 2015, just concentrate on them in the back garden.

My outdoor toms have thrived on neglect this year , thrown in a pot next to the runner beans which they grew taller than this  great Pembrokeshire summer has provided loads of cherry and plum toms!
Both are still ripening on the plants which i stripped of leaves, no signs of blight which was an anual event in Hampshire.

Looks good for next year when the house should be up together and more time can be spent on the garden ! :)

It's been a fabulous year for toms here too!

We always grow lots of plants to get a crop in early, in case of blight, and the seventy-six chaps really did do their best!

I'm having one of the last ones tonight, as a final BLT! (Mrs Growster remembered that there were the very last three toms hidden away in a drawer to ripen..;0)

Sometimes life just gets even better doesn't it..;0)

I think I'll be stripping the plants this weekend to finish off in inside.  The forecast is for frost later in the week and the blight is settling in.  But it is November ...  they have had a great run.   :D

All my outside tomatoes had blight this year.  Reading all your posts has motivated me to have another go.  I think I will spot plant the individual plants around next year for better air circulation.
